What is Eid Al Fitr?

Eid al-Fitr Literally translated from Arabic as the 'festival of breaking the fast', the religious holiday usually lasts for a number of days.

The celebrations involve a range of traditions, generally including a gathering of family and friends to eat and pray together.

Eid al-Fitr is one of the most important days in the Muslim calendar, although its significance is purely spiritual.
The festival has no connection with any historical event but is a day where Muslims thank Allah for the strength, the will and the endurance he gives them, especially during Ramadan.

Fasting in Ramadan is Regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam, Ramadan is the period when Muslims fast every day from sunrise to sunset. They refrain from consuming food, drink and engaging in sexual relations. It also includes the increased offering of prayers and recitation of the Quran.

On the Gregorian calendar, the date varies from one year to another and begins when the first sight of the New moon is seen in the sky.
On 29th, If the Moon is Sighted of the 1st Day of Islamic Month of Shawwal then Eid is Celebrated the following Day, if not then the Month of Ramadan is Counted 30 days and the Eid Al Fitr is celebrated 1 day After. (counting full 30 days fasting)

It also depends on the location, with different countries observing it in different ways.

 The feasts last up to three days inmost Muslim countries.

How do Muslims Celebrate Eid?

On the first morning of the celebration, many gather in local mosques or open-air locations for special prayers called Salat al-Eid, and have breakfast.

Muslims put on their finest clothes for what will be their first daylight meal in a month. Some will exchange gifts, greeting cards and prepare special foods. Eid al-Fitr is to celebrate “the happiness which man feels after successfully completing an important task,”

As 'Eid is just around the corner, here is a quick overview foryou of what to do on the blessed day:

 [Recorded in Bukhari (886), Muslim (2066)]

Now here we will be mentioning you How to Offer Eid Salah. Both the Salaah of Eid al-Adha and Eid Al Fitr are same,  only the Niyyat (Intentions) differ.
 On Eid Al Fitr you should have the intention of praying Eid Al Fitr Salaah and On Eid Al Adha  you should have the Intention of praying Eid Al Adha Salaah. Just this that's it!
Learn Eid Salaah Here below .

How to Offer Eid Salaah behind Imaam ?

Here is Step by step Guide !

Step 1}
First make the following intention:
 Say :
I intend to offer two Rak’āt
Ṣalāĥ of Eid-ul-Fiṭr (or Eid-ul-Aḍḥā which ever the festival is) with six additional
Takbīrāt, for the sake of Allah following this Imām, Facing the Direction of Kaabah (Qiblah) .

Then,
Step 2}
Having made the intention, raise the hands up to the ears, utter "ALLAHU AKBAR" and then fold the hands below the navel and recite the Šanā.

That is -

"SubHanakAllahumma Wa BiHamdika Wa Tabarak Asmuka Wa Ta 'Ala Jadduka Wa Laa Ilaaha Ghairuka "

Then raise your hands to your ears,
utter - " ALLAHU AKBAR" and LEAVE them at the sides;

Then raise the hands to the ears for the SECOND  time and, utter " ALLAHU AKBAR" and LEAVE them at the sides;

Then  raise the hands to the ears for the THIRD  time and, utter - "ALLAHU AKBAR" and FOLD THEM THIS TIME.

{In short, the hands will be folded after the first and fourth Takbīr, whereas they will be left at the sides after the second and third Takbīr.
In other words, the hands will be folded when something is to be recited in Qiyām after Takbīr,while they will be left at the sides when nothing is to be recited.}

Then, the Imām will recite
Ta’awwuż (Auzu Billah) and Tasmiyaĥ (Bismillah) in a low voice, and Sūraĥ Al-Fātiḥaĥ and another Sūraĥ aloud.

 Thereafter, he will perform Rukū’ (Bowing) (By saying Allah Akbar, like in regular daily prayers) .
And then 2 Sajdahs (Prostrations) and then Get up Stand Erect and then fold the hands below the navel.  Follow the Imam.  Do the Same.

Here the First Rakaat is Completed,  We will Now proceed to the Second Rakaat of Eid Salaah

 In the SECOND  RAKAAT , the Imām will first recite Sūraĥ Al-Fātiḥaĥ and another Sūraĥ aloud.

After the recitation,
Then raise your hands to your ears,
utter - " ALLAHU AKBAR" and LEAVE them at the sides;

Then raise the hands to the ears for the SECOND  time and, utter " ALLAHU AKBAR" and LEAVE them at the sides;

Then  raise the hands to the ears for the THIRD  time and, utter - "ALLAHU AKBAR" And LEAVE  THEM  this time also

Then, perform Rukū’ by saying "ALLAH AKBAR"   without raising the hands,
and complete the rest of the Ṣalāĥ as per the usual method.
Like,  Do 2sajdahs, Recite Tashhahud whilst sitting and the Durood sharif

 (Just the way you Do when you're Endimg your Daily 5 times Normal Salaah)  Read Tashhahud (Attahiyyatu Lillahi... ) and then Read Durood  Sharif (Allahumma Salli Ala..)

and then Read Dua e Masuraah (Like - "Rabbana Atina Fiddunya Hasanataw Wa fil Akhirati Hasana Wa Kina Azaaban Naar")

And the Last Step is -  End Salaah/Namaaz Al Eid  by Doing Salaam  (Following the Salaam of Imaam),  (the way you end the Regular prayer by uttering Salaam)

In this way Eid Salaah is Complete!
Wow you did it!!

(Derived from Durr-e-Mukhtār, Rad-dul-
Muḥtār, vol. 3, pp. 66)

Actually Only the First Part of Eid Salaah is Tricky (Only For those Who Offer Less Salaah, because those Who Pray Regularly Will Eventually Get to know How to Pray Eid Salaah)  and the Second part is Just as same as Regular Prayer.

Hope this Helps You!!
In YouTube there are lots of video Available, to learn it live. You can also watch them if needed.

The time of Eid Ṣalāĥ

The time of the Ṣalāĥ of both Eids starts 20 minutes after sunrise and continues till Niṣf-un-Naĥār-e-Shar’ī.
However, it is Mustaḥab (Recommended) to delay Eid-ul-Fiṭr Ṣalāĥ and offer Eid-ul-Aḍḥā Ṣalāĥ early.

(Baĥār-e-Sharī’at, vol. 1, pp. 781; Durr-e-Mukhtār, vol. 3, pp. 60)

It's BETTER to Contact your Local Mosque / Masjid  Near You and ask Eid Timings !!

Yes  Also Do This Very important thing

REMEMBER To pay Ṣadaqaĥ-e-Fiṭr before the Eid Ṣalāĥ (this is better,
but if you couldn’t pay it before the Eid Ṣalāĥ, pay it after
the Ṣalāĥ).  Ask the Zakat ul Fitr Amount from your Local Mosque /Masjid.
