We Muslims Have Only Two Official, Prescribed by Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam) Festivals in Islam, First one is Eid Ul Fitr, that Marks the End of Month of Ramadan, Start of the Month of Shawwal, also Know as Sweet Eid .
and the Second one is Eid Al Adha. Which is celebrated on the 10th of the Holy Month of - "Zill Hajj"
Eid Al Fitr should be distinguished from Eid al-Adha, which is considered the holiest of the two main Muslim festivals.
it marks the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim AlaihisSalaam to sacrifice his son Ismail AlaihisSalaam, as an act of submission to Allah's command, before Allah intervened through his angel Jibra'il and informed him the sacrifice had already been accepted. That Sunnah (Tradition) of Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim AlaihisSalaam) is Followed By Us (Muslims), We Muslims Sacrifice Animals with outstanding Humility and Sincerity towards God.
